AUI-S Takes Over Microsoft's Imagine Cup, The Hawks Beat Everyone to Represent Kurdistan in New York

The American University of Iraq-Sulaimani won Imagine Cup's first, second and fourth places yesterday, April 12, 2011.

After two months of nonstop preparations, fourth teams from AUI-S reached Erbil to participate in Microsoft's Imagine Cup competitions. The competition, held for the first time in Kurdistan region, was dominated by AUI-S students' success.



While The Hawks from AUI-S surprised the judges and the crowd with its project winning the first place, the Wireless Minds won the second place. The Tigers won the fourth place and the praise of the appointed judges.

Kurdistan Region participates in the Imagine Cup for the first time and will be represented by AUI-S students in July, 2011 in the main competition in New York.

The Hawks

Kosar Chewar, Enji Isa, and Choman

The Wireless Minds:

Yad Faiq, Petra, and Rajan Dara

The Tigers:

Sarbast Majeed, Banu Ibrahim and Omer Nihad

The Eagles:

Hardi Dilshad, Botan Burhan and Muhammad Faraj
